A sample of the town water supply was sent to the Ontario Hydro Laboratory in Toronto and the re- sults came back recommending that only the stone- lined tanks be used for complete satisfaction. Cost to purchase outright - $115.50 - tax included. Coach Cy Brassard then presented the Rookie of the Year award to first year junior "A" player Peter Heenan. Runners-up for this trophy were Billy Webb and B.Speziale. Tokens of thanks and appreciation were then pre- sented to Cy Brassard and Bill Woodrow for their work with junior hockey. Bill Woodrow is leaving for Deep River but Cy will be back next season as assistant to Buck, to continue his interest in hockey for young -- people. Team Capt.Terry Paradis added the team's appreciation to all the executive, especially to Bill and Cy. ROSSPORT NEWS R.K.Andras, M.P. and J.Coutés of Ottawa visited Mr.and Mrs .Chas.Todesco Friday. Mr.and Mrs.Beryl Ray of Chippewa Falls, Wisc. are at their summer camp for the season. Roger Auger is at the fire ranger tower at Cookes Lake. Gilbert Martin is at the Kilalla Lake Tower for the summer . Mrs.Eugene Legault is a patient in Port Arthur Gen. Hospital. Mrs.C.W.Todesco has returned from St. Joseph 's Hospital . Mr .and Mrs.H.Sargent of Toronto spent the week- end at their camp on Nicol Island and announced that the property is for sale. Mrs .M.Yandon of Noranda will be Chef at Rossport Inn for the summer. Mike Dalton of Manson, lowa and Dan Whitman of Midland, Mich. are here on a fishing trip. W .Borsum and Frank Buss of Appleton, Wisc. visit- 'ed T.Seppala last week while here on a fishing trip. 'Mr.and Mrs. Bruce Gerow and family of Kapuskas- ing are visiting his mother, Mrs.E.Legault, who is ill. Mrs.W.Schelling was hostess to members of St. Berchman's Altar Society at their regular meeting. Plans were made for a penny auction. AWARDS PRESENTED AT HOCKEY WIND-UP The Schreiber-Terrace Bay Junior "A" team and members of the executive held their wind-up banquet June 2nd in the Terrace Bay Recreation Centre. Coach Cy Brassard thanked the team members and reminded them that, although winning a series is vitally important, th ere are also important lessons in life to be learned from losing. Both he and Buck Matiowsky expressed their sincere thanks to J.P. Heenan for his devoted support and wished that the team and all minor hockey and fastball had the en- couragement of more parents like him. President Scott then presented the "BuckMat" trophy for the most valuable player 6f the year to Johnny Ross. Very close contenders for the award were Billy Stachiw and Dominic Pelegrino; though Scotty stressed the fact that all players are valuable to the team. Physical Education Instructor John Fer- guson presented - trophies for the out- standing boy and girl athletes for 1965-66 to Ken Wood and Jill Crandlemire. ANNOUNCEMENT The cable system will be undergoing renovations during the next few weeks. This may necessitate certain streets being cut off for periods.
