THE ST.JOHN'S AUXILIARY HEARS PROJECT REPORTS The Women's Auxiliary of St.John's Anglican Church made a donation to the United Thank-Offer-] #7" ing at their May meeting with Mrs.A.C .Rigelsford presiding. The treasurer stated all apportionments had been met and Mrs.Bob Gray reported the Take-Out and Mother's Day teas had been successful projects. Mrs .Bruce Lidkea reported she packed a box of clothing for the Dorcas secretary in Sudbury to be sent to Missions. Members agreed to assist the girl's auxiliaries of the Church with their Mother and Daughter Banquet on May 31 and will plan for a party for the Little Helpers' group during June. Mrs .Rigelsford and Mrs.Gray were named dele- gates to the auxiliary convention in Haileybury. After some discussion it was agreed that starting in the Fall when meetings are resumed, the hostess must serve but sandwiches or dessert, and fines will be levied for the Alms Box if the rule is broken. Mrs . Bill Duncan was hostess for this meeting and Mrs .Ted Wilson was named June hostess. DAFFODIL TEA HELD BY CATHOLIC GIRLS The Catholic Girls' Club held their annual Daf- fodil Tea on May 21 in the Guild Hall with the president, Crystal Kusik, receiving. Mrs.Joe Caccamo was dining room hostess and the tea was poured by Mrs.Bill Stefurak and Mrs.Stanley Kusik, Mrs.Denis Connelly and Mrs.D'Arcy McGuire. Servitors were Barbara Stefurak, Sharon O'Brien, June Small, Lenore Campbell, Aileen Ross, Linda Power, Marilyn Cook, Rosemary Speziale, Linda Sisson, Cora Spadoni, Evelyn Fournier, Cathy Stokes and Coleen Maclsaac and the kitchen com- mittee were Dale Sisson, Anne Marie St. Jean, Mrs .Lloyd Small and Brenda Lalonde. The baking table was looked after by Cathy McLellan and Anne Marie McGrath with Peggy Fournier and Linda Singleton selling cards. Mrs.Martyn Ryan and Judy McParland were cashiers. The door prize was won by Mrs.C .Desmoulins-- the ticket drawn by Mrs.Sisson, Sr., of Orillia. George Duncan was taken by ambulance to the Port Arthur General hospital on Thursday . The Cubs and Scouts are holding their annual Hobby Show on May 25th in the Town Hall from 7-9%p.m. Tea will be served and it is hoped a generous crowd will attend to encourage the boys, their leaders and the Lions Club. their sponsors. FUNERAL CONDUCTED IN ST.ANDREWS CHURCH The funeral of the late Mrs.W.B.Simon, nee Kath- leen Walker, whose death occurred in hospital on May 19 following a long illness, was conducted in St.Andrew's United Church on May 20 by Rev. McCuaig BROWNIES BECOME GUIDES Eleven Brownies entered Guides in a Fly-Up ceremony and two others in a Walk up rite in Holy An- gels school auditorium. Brown Owls Marcy Cebra- rio and Kay Stefurak pinned wings on Isley Crawley, Anne Bailey, Darlene Desmoulins, Karen Glad, Beth Ross, Cathy Anderson, Cathy McGuire, Sharon Scott, Laura McParland, Diane Huard, Debby Cook while for Cathy Bottomley and Karen Kushnieryk the Golden Shoes were used. They were received into Guides by Captain Ellen Campbell and Lieuts.Edna Cocks and Donna Fleming. Guide Dale Sisson was presented with a Child Care, Second Class and First Aid Badges by Lieut. Cocks, Guide Marilyn Cook was presented with Sewer's and Cooking Badges by Capt.Campbell who told the audience that Marilyn has the most badges of any girl, remarking that she will soon run out of sleeve room to place them. Following the ceremony the Guides and the Brown ies who attended the occasion gathered in a camp fire to sing some rousing numbers.
