NEARING COMPLETION THE GARDEN OF STARS EXPO 67's administration and news building (foreground) will be ready for occupancy early in 1966. The three-storey, three wing building will provide 200,000 square feet of office space for Expo's staff. In the background is the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation's World Broadcasting Cen'- tre from which will originate Canada's first color TV in 1967. Multi-purpose light entertainment centre being built by EXPO 67 will serve as a children's enter- tainment area in the late morning and early afternoon as a teen-age dance hall in the early evening, and as a top-flight nightclub at night. The $1,100,000 building, which was designed by Montreal architect Max Roth, will stand close to Dolphin Lake in La Ronde, the Exhibition's 110-acre amusement park .. DECORATIVE LIGHTING CONTEST RESULTS FAREWELL PARTY FOR THE RIDSDALES First prize in the residential outdoor decorative lighting contest, sponsored by the Schreiber Hydro Commission, was won by Roy Kragero, Main Street, second prize went to F. V. Harness, Ontario St., third to William Cook, Park Street and fourth to George Riley, Newman Street. A farewell party for Mr. & Mrs. J. B. Ridsdale was held by the congregation of St. Andrew's United Church in the Church Hall with J. N. Ross as MC for the evening. A piano duet was played by Daryl Lynn and Wendy Weaver and both also played solos. The senior members of the Junior Choir sang two selec- tions "How great thou art" and "The church in the wildwood". An amusing skit was presented by Sharon Riley, Colleen Cosgrove and Cathy and Lou McGrath Mr. Jack Johnston showed slides of local and dis- trict scenes. Roly Gander, on behalf of the Board of Stewarts, on which Mr. Ridsdale had served for 17 years pre- sented him with a wallet. Mrs. Ridsdale, who has been an active member of first the W.A. and later the U.C.W. was presented with a gift of corning ware by the U.C.W. President Mrs. T.P. Whent made the presentation. A sunburst wall clock and money was presented by J.N. Ross on behalf of the congregation and the many other friends in the community who attended the party. Lunch served by the U.C.W. ended the pleasant evening. JOINT DINNER PARTY HELD The Women's Auxiliary, the Evening Group and the Busy Bees of St. John's Anglican Church held a joint Christmas dinner party in the Church Hall, with the Evening Group arranging the dinner and the table festively decorated by Mesdames G. Birch and C. Sparkes . Following the dinner, there was an exchange of gifts and a round of cards finished the evening. The winners were Mrs. K. Himes, Mrs. J.D. Bryson, Mrs. D. May with Mrs. T. Wilson winning a special prize. PRIVATE KINDERGARTEN OPENED Mrs. D.F. Muldrew with Mesdames G.T .Lengyel and W.C.Tripp opened their private kindergarten on January 5th in the United Church Hall.
