Daryl Lynn Weaver Wins Three Trophies The ladies' baseball league annual banquet with various presentations was held in the United Church hall. Mrs. Lor- raine' Fadden, president, .wel- comed members and guests. The winners' trophy and small- er replicas were presented to Twilighters captain Avilia Rich- ardson and team members Daryl Lynn Weaver, Ethel Nes- bitt, Lorraine Fadden, Evelyn Thrower, Chris Morris, Laura Morris, Norma McLellan' and Helen Nesbitt. Daryl Lynn Weaver received the trophy for most home runs, presented by Lorraine Bedard. Audrey Bryar was runner-up. Avilia Richardson received the most improved player trophy presented by Ethel Nes- bitt. Runner-up was Rolande Bedard. Evelyn Thrower received the most sportsmanlike player award, presented by Muriel Nesbitt, who remarked that this is the first time trophies for most home runs, most valuable and a place on the winning team had been captured by the same person. Roxanne Hill re- ceived a trophy for most valu- able spare player. Lorraine Huard was runner-up. _ Other team captains Barbara Arnold and Rolande Bedard spoke briefly paying tribute to coaches Fred McColeman, Dan Ray and Lawrence Guillet, and umpires Neil Ross and Pat McCouan, The president also thanked the Kinsmen for the 'use of their hut on the ball park during the season. CATHOLIC PARENT - TEACHERS MEET Mrs. S. Chicoine, newly elected president , was in charge of the Catholic Parent - Teachers' | Association meeting on September 7th, with Father Cano opening in prayer. Rev. Sister Frances Joseph, School Principal introduced. her staff and spoke briefly on the decision to have parents meet with teachers only at report time. Mrs. B. Mullins agreed to-canvas for member- ship dues. It was agreed to cater for the Communion' 'breakfast in October and Mrs. L. Bryar will convene this event. Mrs. R. Campbell agreed to convene the raffle of a coffee percolator (Cont'd on Page 9 October 1 teiber wm Sand Li f é oS ANNUAL HAT SHOW WELL ATTENDED e fourth annual Hat Show, sponsored by the Busy Bees of St. John's Anglican Church was attended by an extra large crowd . The hats of fabric and feathers, were in designs for both formal and everyday wear, with children's included, and some amusing eye-catching, strictly teenage ones. While the models displayed the large Fall collection of hats, the crowd enjoyed a delight ful luncheon of strawberry shortcake. Modeling for the Show were Mrs. H. Haughn, and Mrs. B. Hayes of Terrace Bay, Mesdames N. Glad, _ B. Lidkea, J. Rigelsford, and Misses S. Harness, P. Dimmery, M. Powiss and L. Lidkea. A display of bags, gloves and shoes were shown, with Mrs. W. Miller and Mrs. J. Corbett in charge of selling these items. Mrs. J. Winters convened the event and Mrs. K. Williamson was in charge of the make-up. SCHREIBER HIGH SCHOOL STAFF The Schreiber High School have one-hundred and seventy-four enrolled, with their staff as follows: O.B. Fasan, Math; (Gr. IX), J. Finnbogasin, Eng- lish and History; J.
