Reid and son Geoffrey were holi- day guests of Mrs. Reid's parents Mr. & Mrs. E. Holmes. Mrs. P. Sparkes and Joanne visited with Mr. Sparkes who is in hospital in. the Lakehead. Miss Marie Cebrario has returned to London after visiting her family during the holidays. Mr. V.E. Everitt was called to Mattawa by the death of his mother. Mrs. G. Bailey of Ft. William is the guest of the Roy Baileys. Mr. & Mrs. R. Cote of Ottawa spent the holidays with Mrs. Cote's parents, Mr. & Mrs. H. Stewart. Miss Lorraine Nesbitt motored Mrs. W. IIlijow to McKellar hospital where she underwent surgery . Mrs. D. Nesbitt accompanied them on the trip. Place and Toronto. Mrs. L. Fischer of North Bay spent the holidays with her sons Gerald and Harold and their families . Miss Chloe Vanderlip has returned to Toronto after a visit with her mother, Mrs. Verna Vanderlip Mr. & Mrs. R. MacAdam had their daughter and son-in-law Mr. & Mrs. A. R. Dajeet of Pt. Arthur with them during the holidays. Miss Cynthia Bond of Ft. William is the guest of Lorraine Nesbitt. Mrs. J. M. McGrath, Michael and Mary are visiting relations in the East. Mr. & Mrs. W. Campbell of Ft. William are visiting both their parents, the Joe Campbells and Tom Webbs. Wally Greenshields was taken to hospital at the Lakehead after suffering a broken leg in a fall this week. Mrs. F. B. Kerrigan spent the Christmas holidays in the Lakehead. Schreiber's New Year baby was a son born January 2nd to Mr. & Mrs. Jack Whitton. FUNERAL SERVICE FOR MRS. ARNOT The funeral of the late Mrs. Selma Marie (Mary) Arnot, 83, whose death in hospital, Toronto, oc- curred on December 29th, was conducted by Rev. R. J. S. Inshaw in St. John's Anglican Church in Schreiber on January 2nd. Organist was Mrs. R. J. S. Inshaw and two favourite hymris of the de- ceased were sung, "Oh Master let me walk with Thee" and "There is no night in Heaven". Pallbearers were G. Caccamo, F. V. Harness, J. Bryson, D. May, W. G. Gerow, G. Cebrario, J. Stitt and J. S. St. Pierre. Interment was in Schreiber cemetery. Mrs. Arnot was predeceased by her husband in 1958 and is survived by one son Thomas of London, two daughters Ida, Mrs. C. L. McCoshen, Montreal and Dorothy of Toronto. Schreiber's oldest resident, Mrs. Arnot was born in Stockholm, Sweden, and came to Schreiber as Cathie McCouan and Val Breaman of Toronto were guests of Mr. & Mrs. M. McCouan for the holidays. Mr. & Mrs. J. C. Nesbitt are visiting in Carleton a child with her parents in 1883. She married Thomas Arnot in 1903 in Schreiber. A member of St. John's Anglican Church, she served for many years in various offices in the Sunday School and the Wo- men's Auxiliary. Attending the service from out of town were Miss Dorothy Arnot and Miss Ruth Sheldrick, Toronto. FUNERAL SERVICE FOR JOHN M. JUDGE The funeral of the late John Michael Judge, 73, whose death occurred in hospital December 25th, was conducted in the Gawley Funeral Home by Rev. Fraser Muldrew December 30th. Pallbearers were J. A. Whent, H. H. Howard, R. W. Turner, J. Slobodian, T. Bolan, T. Whitton. Burial was in Schreiber cemetery. He is survived by his wife Violet and one brother Jim in California. Born in the United States, he came to Canada as a young man and entered the service of the C.P.R. in 1914 in Sudbury; he came to Schreiber on February 28, 1929 and worked as a train despatcher until retirement in 1956. Attending the service from out of town were Mr. & Mrs. A. Cook, Toronto and Mrs. D. Duncan, Kelowna, B.C. Mr. & Mrs. Y. Jacobson of Hudson, Ontario, announce the engagement of their daughter Carol to Mr. John Inshaw, son of the Rev. and Mrs. R. J. S. Inshaw of Schreiber.
