Mr. Lee said he was amazed at the improvement made, for the most part by voluntary labor, adding that he fully realized how much initiative and support had come from the Auxiliary. Alex Gray, guest speaker, said in part that such services as we keep on Remembrance Day should, in addition to being a formal expression of honor to the dead heroes and sympathy to their bereaved ones, also be an occasion when each one privileged to attend, searches his own soul. Mr. Gray closed his address with the words "When you go home, tell the of us and say," For your to-morrow we gave you OUR to-day". The event ended with a cabaret dance. Mr. Guina also deplored the many broken and otherwise damaged sidewalks in town, suggesting that hot mulch be used in a short length to compare it with cement in use. Another suggestion was that smocks be bought for ambulance drivers, in particular town employees who are frequently called from work without time to change from their working clothes. Water works accounts of $481.62 and general accounts totalling $4,497.36 were passed for pay- ment. C.Y.O GROUP VISIT SCHREIBER A gala weekend was spent by the Catholic. Youth Organization (CYO) when they were hosts to a de- legation from the Catholic Youth Club of Chapleau. Lois LeBlanc, Schreiber chairman, was assisted by councillors Ray Guillet, Melvin Tookenay, Billie Ann Cocks, Judy St. Jean, Doris McParland, Phil Moorey and Bob McParland in drawing up the pro- gram for the occasion. Events, which started Friday evening and concluded Sunday evening, included a Mass on Saturday followed by addresses by Father J.M. Cano and councillor Ray Guillet; tournaments in bowling, badminton, ping pong, billiards; a skating party at Terrace Bay and a corporate com- munion and communion buffet lunch. A dance and social evening was enthusiastically enjoyed by all. The occasion was a return visit from the Chapleau | club who had earlier this year entertained a dele- gation from Schreiber. Mrs. G.F. Mrs. R. Macadam presided for the November meeting of the United Church Women. Mrs. O..Laine thanked those who had worked at and contributed to the Thanksgiving dinner. It was decided to replenish the Church kitchen cupboard supply. Mrs. A. Gordon presented arrangements for the tea being given on November 30th and various committees for the event were named. Mrs. F. ivi Macadam reported on donations already in for the Bazaar and asked that any others be handed in shortly for marking. Nominations from the floor were called for the 1964 executive with Mrs. Laine as chairman. Mrs. R.G. Macadam gave the sick and visiting report. Mesdames D. Nesbitt, O. Niemi and G. McBride convened the congregational dinner on November 14th. A donation was made to the Board of Ste- wards of the Church. Following the meeting, members purchased from a Bring-and=Buy table, the proceeds to be sent to the Canadian Bible Society. A film on tuberculosis was shown by R. G. Ma- cadam followed by a talk on the disease by Dr. David Freebury. Lunch was served by Mesdames W.H. Gellert, H. McCanna, D. Nesbitt, J.B. Ridsdale and T. Whent. COURT OF REVISION The local court of revision was held on Tuesday afternoon in the Town Hall with only eight appeals to be decided. Present were Reeve W.E. D'Arcy, councillors F.V. Harness, P.J. Guina, Mrs. |. McCuaig and J.M. McGrath with clerk R. C. Skinner and assessor W.G. Furlonger. Appeals were presented by J.E. Wills, J.M. Cornell M.D., Andrew Megill, Mrs. Helen Bulna, Mrs. D. Costa, N. Linkewich, Husky Oil and for the R.C. Guild Hall. Mrs. J. Kostecki convened the very successful Poppy Day tea of the Canadian Legion Ladies' Auxiliary with Mrs. L.
