Bowling Trophies and bars were presented to Wendy Duncan, Jane Heenan, Kit Knauff, Rod Thompson, Allen Trudeau and Henry Stuart by the Principal. Intramural Curling Trophy with bars and a gift were awarded to Skip Rod Thomp son, Jill Crandlemire, Bruce Lundberg and Dan Schock by Curling President A. Reynolds. Mrs. J. Coons presented the bars to Girls' Basket= ball champions P.Boudreau, D.Brown, C.Connors, S.Desrosiers, K.Knauff, E.Knight, V.LeBlanc, B. Long, B.Pineault, M.A.Pineault and N.Scowen. The bars to the Champion Boys' Basketball team were presented by Mr. G.V. Coons to D.Colborne, D Falzetta, M.LeMay, B.Lundberg, M.Mallais, L Phillips, H.Stuart, D.Teniuk, A.Trudeau,O .Turner and K.Wood. Track & Field Trophies and bars were also presen- ted by Mr.Coons who explained the total possible points a competitor could amass would be 30 and he must compete in 6 events. Winner of the Jr. Boy's was David Falzetta with 30. points, Jr.Girl's Judy McInnes with 17 points, Sr.Boy, Cliff Wood with 28 points and Sr.Girl, Velma LeBlanc with 20 points. Mr. M.L. Steen awarded Badminton bars to L. Lawrence, E.Moores, M.Sadowick, N.Scowen and H.Stuart and Cheerleader bar to J.Crandlemire, M. Delaronde, B.Hamilton, D.Larson, C.MacLeod and E.O'Javee. Academic and Related Awards were begun by Chair man of the Board, Mr. E.B. Young, as he presented Academic Crests to Grade 10 students Bonnie Hamilton-76.9%, Brian Hubelit-88 .6%, Carol Mac- Leod-78.1%, David Mercier-78 .4% and David Ro- berts-78 .3% and to Grade 12 students Maureen Hall and Jane Heenan. Presentation of the Proficiency Award Plaques was made by W.J.Cavanaugh, member of the Board and went to Fred Erickson, Gr. 9 with 93.3%, Brian Hubelit, Gr.10-88.6%, Diane Paulsen, Gr. 11-92%, | 2 and Jane Heenan, Gr.12-77.3%. Further recog- nition went to these four students when Mrs. F.O. Soughton, on behalf of Soughton's Jewellers, pre- sented gifts to each. Perfect Attendance Pins and bars were presented by Mr. J.Terpstra to P.Downey, D.Falzetta, B. Hubelit, K.Moore, L.Nicol, M.Sadowick, N. Scowen, D.Teniuk and D.Wills. Mr. Terpstra also presented Public Speaking bars to the local contest- ants who competed in the interschool competition - Jane Heenan, Lynda Lawrence, Bruce Rapke and Lorne Turner. Mr. K. Pelew made the presentation of Library bars to B.L.Cavanaugh, J.Crandlemire, E.Dobush, B. Hopper, M.Jeanneret, L.Lawrence, A.Lafontaine A.Long, B.Long, J.Mcinnes, M.A.Pineault, V. Pineault, G.Slattery and S.Synishin. Mr. G. Unger awarded Students' Council bars to D.Colborne, W.Duncan, F.Erickson, D.Larson, B. Legault, J.MacDonald, D.Mercier, S.Synishin and B. Young. Congratulations from Kimberly-Clark Pulp & Paper Company Limited were extended by Mr. John Ferrier Mill Manager. He was sorry no student had earned a Kimberly-Clark scholarship this year, but the marks of the Proficiency award students certainly in- dicated there would soon be a need for five or six.
