F. Strutt for the minutes and corres- pondence, Present were Counciijors D. Evans- Smith, J, Wellings and A, Fraser, Clerk W. Hanly and Fire Chief R, Hofland, Notice had been given that the present Municipal Offices would be vacated at the end of April. Permission was granted to the Girl Guide Association to hold their Annual Cooltle Day, May 26th, A survey of costs on indoor and outdoor pools had been requested of the | Ontario Municipal Association, A letter from the Terrace Bay Chamber of Commerce contained many recommendations to improve parking facilities at the shopping centre during the tourist season, and invited representation at their next meeting, to con- sider the Hawkers and Peddlers By-Law, The items were discussed by Council with Reeve Heenan stating he would reply to this letter, Fire report for the month of March showed no fire call out during that period, making a total of 53 days fire free, Acting Fire Chief Hofland requested permission to hold one extra practice a month for two months to familiarize the drivers with pump operations, This will be discussed at the forthcoming meeting of the Fire and Police Committee, Acting Fire Chief Hofland further reported the St, Johns Ambul- ance Classes were successfully concluded and Council would be requested to present certifi- cates to the Volunteer Firemsn on April 25. On this date, Mr, L, Cottenden of the Fire Marshall's Office would be present to award the N.F.P.
