Boyd, Sr., President of the Terrace Bay Kiwanis Club Incorporated switched on the power controlling a new Radio and TV installation, cost of which was borne by the Club, Some year and a half ago the Kiwanis .Club decided they would like to do some- thing for the Hospital, On approaching hospital authorities the staff felt that a TV Hook-up would be of great benefit, Monday night saw the culmination of Kiwanis Club efforts, A cheque was presented to Mr, Bert Lohr of Community TV Services who had made the installation, A nominal charge will be made by Community TV Services for rental of Television and Radio sets, which may be had by the day, week or month, EAST THUNDER BAY TUBERCULOSIS ASSOCIATION 110J.DS MEETING IN TERRACE BAY -The East Thunder Bay Tuberculosis Assoc= iation held their regular Fall meeting' in the Terrace Bay Recreation Centre at 2,30 P.M, Sunday. There will be a Grand Parade, Clowns and Treats, 'Prizes will be awarded for the best costumese LOCAL GIRLS TO COLLECT FOR UNICEF On the eve of Hallowe'en girls of the Terrace Bay Guide and Brownie movement and those who are members of the Canadian Girls in Training, will give residents of the 'community an opportunity to donate to the United Nations Childrens! Fund. UNICEF = an organization devoted to helping economically underdeveloped countries in their efforts to improve the health, nutrition and welfare of children, depends entirely on' voluntary contributions from _ governments, private groups and individuals. The eminent entertainer, Danny Kaye, is one of the supporters of the movement. In Canada Kate Aitken, chairman of the Ontario Committee, will conduct a televised appeal which will be broadcast Thursday, Oct. 26th at 5,630 PoMe Local Guide Authorities point out that this drive will be carried out in the traditional "trick or treat" manner, This means that the girls will, if they choose, be in Hallowe'en costume but each will wear a tag identifying them as- collectors for UNICEF, Householders will be greeted with the "trick or treat" cry and may, if they are so inclined, "shell out" candies, apples etc, as well as a.donation which will be droppéd in the UNICEF Box each girl will Carrye These girls will be making their calls between 6 P,M. and 9 P.M, Remember no contribution is too small - one cent will buy 5 glasses of milk - 5¢ will buy enough vaccine to protect five children from T,B. and 10¢ will buy 50 vitamin capsules. MOTEL CONSTRUCTION STARTED Terrace Bay Enterprises have started construction on their new 21 unit motel,~ Footings will be poured on Tuesday night, Renovations are underway on the garage premises which will be situated behind the motel proper.
