woo 39 Vol.4, No.38 September 28, 1961 SCHOOL SAFETY PATROLS FORMED white belted girls and boys standing at certain points on Highway 17 during school days. These boys and girls are a responsible group of school children interested in the promotion of safety to their fellow school- mates. In their position as a School Safety Patrol member, they are responsible for the lives of others while crossing the highway to and from school, They stand at their positions in warm weather or cold weather, taking this responsibility in earnest. Their success in this position depends upon the co- operation of their fellow schoolmates, school boards and staffs, parents and adults of this community, Without the support of everyone, they cannot function satisfactorily, and their efforts will be to we avail. The School Safety Patrols have been organ~ ized with the assistance of Mr. T.0. Poole, of the Department of Fransport, the School Boards, Town Council, Kiwanis Club and the School Staffs, and is endorsed by the local Police Department, School Patrol members are as follows: Don Teniuk, Pat' Downey, Leith McKay, Fred Erikson, Wayne Daley, Errol Morres, Karen Moore, Lorne Turner, Beverley Phillips, Cary Fraser, Mary Slattery, Francis Helmink, Adrianne Long, Jennifer McInnes, Judy McInnes, Mickey Valiquette, Tommy Gerow, Marguerite Pineault. Parents are requested to note the following times during which School Patrols will be in operation: 8.35 to 8.50 A.M,, 11.55 to 12,10 noon, 1.00 to 1.15 P.M., 3.50 to 4.10 P.M. Monday through Friday. A patrol team has been chosen from Grade 8 pupils of both the Separate School and Public School, Teams comprise of one Captain and eight patrol members, two of which are spares. The Kiwanis Club of Terrace Bay has under- taken to equip the members of the patrols with belts and badges. Crosswalk markings and school crossing signs will be erected at the crossings located at Kenogami Road, Simcoe Plaza and at the Hotel, in the near future, RRR HHH HK H 1646 4 Everyone, by now, is probably aware of the MEN'S CURLING CLUB ANNUAL MEETING The Annual Meeting of the Ments Curling Club will be held on September 28th, at 8.30 P.M. in the old curling leunge. Plans will be made for the 1961-62 season and a report will be given on the new lounge build~ ing.
