March 16, saa | LOCAL RINKS TAKE HONOURS IN LADTES BONSPIEL +> The Terrace Bay Ladies Bonspiel ended on Sunday afternoon with local rinks taking all | of the prizes in the first event, A rink | skipped by S. Duquette took the Nesco Trophy, a Trophy awarded annually to the 'Spiel Cham- pion, M.Hamilton played 3rd - N.Crockford [3 2nd - and A.Sinkins, lead on this rink, |: Runner up in the event was a rink skipped by P.Wellings--the I.Romaniuk rink took | third place and I. ddmonds guided her quar- tet to the fourth spot. Mrs, &.McLean of Port Arthur skipped H. Andrews, L.Frank and M, Bell to first place { in "B" Event. The Lila Gray rink of Port ; Arthur won second prize--the Morrison Rink from Wawa came in third and Mrs, Moodie of ; Pt,Arthur came fourth. Mary Hale, D.Pastor, H.Brophy and &,Zwyr - | of Terrace Bay won the "C" Zvent and Mrs. F, * ! Mr. & Mrs. Thor Olsen with Ray and Christine were visitors in the Lekgpesd last weekend, Mr, & Mrs, R. Larson visited with Mr. & Mrs. Verne Kehler of Port Arthur last weekend and left son Roddy in Nipigon to visit his aunt and uncle, Mr. & Mrs. Andy Peters. Returning home Monday from the Lakehead were Mr, & Mrs, W,. Scheuchenpflug. Mrs. J. Erickson of Fort William is visit- ing at the home of Mr. & Mrs. C. Buck. A hockey enthusiast, Mrs. #rickson is attend- ing the play off games here. Silver Birch Chapter, 0.2.5. No. 264, held their regular meeting on March 13th in the Community Church Hall at 8.15 P.M. with Mrs. N. Thrower, W.M. and Chas. Sitch, W.P. presiding for routine business and accepting convenor's reports. The ceremony of initiation was conferred and a committee composed of Mrs, Thrower, Mrs, F, Bryson and Mrs. A. Bryson will make arrangements for a dinner in Schreiber in honour of the official visit of the District Deputy Grand Matron, Mrs. &. Rowe, which . falls on the regular meeting night, Monday April 15, Tea and delicious hot cross buns were served by lunch convenor, Mrs, &, Ostling and her committee of Mesdames L. Harris, A. Farrow, B. Haughn, M. Lundberg and D. Pastor. | SCHREIBER HIGH SCHOOL WINS TROPHY In a "sudden death" game held last Sat. _ evening in Terrace Bay arena, the Schreiber High School Hockey team, cheered vociferously by a group of loyal supporters, defeated Terrace Bay High School by a score of 6-1 and annexed the Linkewich Trophy. SCHREIBER MIDGETS WIN SUNDAY GAME Immediately after the Superior game, Terrace Bay midgets faced Schreiber Midgets, andi at the end of a hectic scramble, the Schreiber Midgets were ahead by a score of one point.
