Terrace Bay Comets are just holding their own in the Lakehead Senior Baseball League. In five starts they have won two, lost two and came through last Thursday at Terrace Bay with an exciting tie 0-0 against Red Rock Paper Kings. The trip to the Lake- head last Sunday netted them a, win against Westfort. but the: second game of the double header, although a loss, had plenty of sus- pense. Comets lost to arguments on umpire decisions, Kolody, Hanly, Pytyck and Manager, J, Thomas, all finding themselves spectators. Kolody is fast coming up as a big name in the league. His timé@ on the mound have been His games and he has been. holding up his end in the hitting department having two 2-base hits. Wilkinson was big man on the mound for He was hurl- ing against LaSarge and allowed only four hits with three walks. He came out at the end of the 9th in favour of Kolody, who loaded the bases, sweated through two strike outs, and had full count against the last man up before he retired him. LaSarge hurled faultless ball up to the ?th inning only to have a second baseman make an error to put the first man on. At Westfort Sunday in the double header, the first game became a win 4-2 but it wasn! until a 7th inning rally that the Comets cam through. They trailed 2-0 until that time. Kolody and Pytyck were the Terrace Bay battery with Ward and Taylor being the hitters with two each, In the second round Comets with Taylor, Wilkinson and Kolody going to the mound with Hanly, Pytyck and Stachiw all taking a spell at receiving started off well enough with a quick two run first inning. Westfort got - one in the second, again in the fourth and brought the winning run in in the seventh, Comets at least will keep their fingers crossed that there will not be another time LAKEHEAD .SENIOR BASEBALL LEAGUE TERRACE BAY COMETS SCHEDULE P.M, Sunday, June 5 Westfort at T.Bay 2 games 1.30 T.Bay at Red Rock 1 game 6,00 Sunday, .° " 12 TsBay at Red Sox 2 games Wed.
