THREE SCHOOLS 'TAKE PART IN TRACK & FEILD DAY ieee Re gob eialrader he is ur-t were ehist Cool weather and cloudy skies greeted the students from Marathon and Schreiber as they came to Terrace Eay High for 'the annual Track Meet on October 13th. : ' The meet began at 10°A.M. and tension rose aS neither school was ever too far ahead of the other, The Terrace girls managed to pull ahead of their competitors by 37 points. The Marathon boys had a lead of 36 points over the Terrace Bay boys when the last race was run. When the last race was run and the points tallied Terrace Bay won their first victory in seven years by a one point margin, Although all the students deserve credit ' and praise four Champions were chosen on the - basis of points 'they accumulated out of a ' possible thirty. The Senior girls Champion was Mary Boultbee of Marathon with twenty- four points, The Senior Poys Championship was close all the way with Phil Inshaw of Schreiber, who turned in a tremendous 'two- 'mile run, amassing. the winning twenty-two ; points. CANADA SAVINGS BONDS POPULAR ~~ Tieturns from canvassers to date show that 102 people have signed up for $47,100.in bonds. And there is still three weeks to go in the campaign. This would seem to indi- cate that once again these bonds are receiv=- 'ing wide acceptance from the employees of Kimberly-Clark, If you haven't already signed up, think it over, Then talk it over with your canvasser - you can't lose, Some of the canvassers listed in last week's 'News' are on holidays. As soon as they return to work they will be around to see the people on their lists. Remember these canvassers are volunteer workers who make it possible for you to invest in your future and in the future of Canada. FIGURE SKATING NEWS * It has been announced by the Terrace Bay Figure Skating Club that the registration for Club memberships and dues for the 59-60 season will be held this Saturday, October 24th in the Recreation Centre from 2-4 P.M, The next registration date will be held on November 7th from 2-4 P.M, also in the Rec- reation Centre. At the aforementioned times and dates a Skate Exchange will also be held, and those people wishing to take (Cont'd Page 9)
