February 19, 1959 SCORE 9-7 FOR RED ROCK TUESDAY'S GAME With two minutes to go Terrace Bay pulled the Goalie in a desparate bid for supremacy. Red "ock already had one man in the penalty box. However it was a futile effort since Red Rock took advantage of the empty net to make the score 9-7. : On Tuesday, February 17th, the Superiors dropped an important game to Ked Rock which leaves the Royals and Superiors tied for second spot in the League standings, Poth teams have one League game this Thursday-- Superiors at Terrace Bay against Marathon-- Royals against Nipigon Flyers, A win for Superiors against Marathon is a MUST on Thursday if they are to have any hope of second spot, Now come the big IFS, If Superiors win on Thursday and Red Rock win too there will have to be a play-off game between these two clubs prior to the play-offs. If Superiors lose on Thursday and Red Rock wins it will mean third spot for Superiors and a semi- final series against Marathon starting this coming Saturday and Sunday in Marathon, If Superiors win and Red Rock loses on Thursday Superiors will end up in second spot but Red Rock will be the favourite over Nipigon. The Royals and.Superiors are playing it down to the wire in League standings. Tuesday's loss to Red Rock was a tough one but, as usual the Royals dug. for that puck and checked like crazy. Jorgenson was not minding the nets so the loss cannot be put down to him, Thursday night is the big game. Hockey fans will see Superiors out to make a win on their home ice. Be at the Arena for the game and watch for a Hockey Association Bulletin for the possible play-off game be- tween Red Rock and Superiors to break a second place tie in the League standings.
