Page 10, NEW T.Ve TOWER FOR COMMUNITY TELEVISION A new television tower has been erect- ed during the last week which, it is hoped, should improve television reception from CFCJ-TV, Port Arthur, The new tower is 120 feet high and is topped by two new type Antennas designed specifically for Channel 2. Both tower and antennas are designed to withstand a wind of 100 miles per hour when loaded with 1/2" of ice, a condition that is very seldom met in this area, so that there is little danger of T.V. interruption because of wind or ice. This equipment went into service on the day of the last World Series Ball game and has been on the line since, There are a few minor changes to be made - in equipment which wil] be done in the near future; however, I shoyld like to have your comments on reception generally from CFCJ-TV so that I can better assess the results and make any possible improvements, If it is found that the added height is helping T.V.~ reception to any extent, then the plans are to also raise the Marquette Antennas to improve reception from that station. I hope to have your comments on this. Father McHugh, who is the first clergyman of any Faith to be buried in Schreiber, was born in Sault Ste, Marie in 1904 and, following his early school- ing there, entered De La Salle Christian Brother School in Toronto in 1921, He taught at St. Alphonse! school in Windsor from 1926-28; attended Grand Seminary in Montreal from 1929 to 1935 and was ordained on June 15th in Precious Blood Church in Sault Ste, Marie, He served various Parishes in the Sudbury district of the diocese of St. Marie, from 1935-38, after which he went to Vaird where he was the parish priest from 1935-46 when he was trans- ferred to Holy Angels Church in Schreiber, and it was during his service in Schreiber he was made a Dean, Father McHugh was pre-deceased by his parents and two brothers, the latter secular, priests in the Sault St. Marie 'diocese, Father Vincent P, McHugh in 1957, and Father Clarence McHugh in 1931. For his Church the death of Dean McHugh was the loss of a trained, ded- icated worker; for his parishioners, the loss of.a sympathetic leader and counsellor; but for the lads who swarmed daily in and out of the rectory, it was the loss of a beloved friend whom they mourned with a deep personal grief, Father McHugh's affection for his boys caused his front yard 'to Sprout inum- erable bikes rather than grass, and on his grounds games of ball, rugby, and hockey, were continually in progress acoording to the season, with, in the winter, all the smaller children in 'the (Cont'd on Page 11)
