TOWN TOPICS "Tommy" Bolan, who ontered the employ of 3 the CPR in March 1912 in the Bridge and Building Department,) retired on pension on Sept.3rd, with a great. crowd of friends, officials, fellow workers and relations pre- sent to congratulate him, His family included his wife, daughter Ellen, Mrs,Russell Campbe1 1, Mr.Campbell, Lenore, Maureen and Laura, his son Pat Bolan, Mrs,Bolan, Cathie, Marjorie and Randy; among the officials were Sipt, J.G.Coleman, G, McDonald, G,Birch and G.Cataford, Tommy worked his full day and, following the rite of 'punching the clock! the family, with Mr.& Mrs, J.Campbell, went on to dinner in the Schreiber Hotel, During the meal Mrs,Campbell presented a corsage of pink camellias to her Mother and grandaughter Lenore Campbell had the honour of presenting the family's 'fun-gift! two silver 'merit! cups to the guests of honour. In the evening the Bolans were at home to their friends and received many lovely gifts. Friends of the Bolans assisted in 'serving a delightfully presented tea, the feature of which was a cake, made especially for the occasion, decorated with a replica of a Bridge and showing the numbers 1923 - 1958, Nn Before leaving for North Bay, where he will attend Scollard Hall Phil.Moorey was given a surprise party by a group of friends, in Bob McParland's home. They are, Jim West and Ed.Pineault with Roland Wills as quartermaster, The course, which consists of two parts, written and attendance, is conducted exactly as Cub Camp should be with the exception that Leaders must do their own cooking but otherwise taking up the routing of Camp life, games and study periods, CUB PACK NEWS Both Wolf Cub Packs have resumed meetings for the Fall season, Boys eight years old or over all eligible to join, Parents of boys wishing to join should contact J.Wade of the Akela Pack--the Monday night group, or R. Wills of the Mowgli Pack--the Tuesday night group.
