KIMBERLY-CLARK PULP AND: PAPER COMPANY - UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP A $2,000° 'Séholarship 'is hereby créated by the Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper ona Limited. to be known as the Kimberly-Clark Scholarship, This Scholarship is open to competition among students who are children of eet legal wards of) employees of Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper Company, Mill Division, Terrace Bay, or Woodlands Division, Longlac, and who are writing the Upper School (Grade 13) examinations conducted by the Department of Education of Ontario. The Scholarship will be payable in annual instalments of $500 for the nine on. of the course chosen by the successful student, but in no case to exceed four years. The Scholarship shall be paid, after the enrolment of a student at University, in two instalments, the first ($250) within 30 days after the Head of the University certifies that the student is in regular attendance, and the balance within 30 days after the opening of the second term on the certification of the Head of the University that the student is in regular attendance and has completed satisfactorily the work of the first term. A "Committee of Awards" shall be responsible for determining the winning candidate , each year and shall consist of - (a) The Principal of Terrace Bay High School. (b) Two representatives of the Woodlands Division of Longlac appointed by the Woodlands Manager, (c) Two representatives of the Mill Division at Terrace Bay appointed by the Mill Manager. Three members: of the Committee constitute a quorum. At the discretion of the "Committee of Awards" a student may, for good and sufficient cause, defer his or her entrance to a University course for one year without losing the right. to the Scholarship. The following rules and regulations shall govern the awarding of the Scholarships: 1. No student will be accepted for ascholarship who has been engaged in Hizh School , studies for more than five years, 2. The Scholarship shall be awarded to the eligible student who ranks highest at the Upper School examinations in June conducted by the Department of Education of Ontario,. 3. The award shall be based on the total marks obtained on the best nine papers written in '++ the fifth year of the Upper School examinations without restrictions as to subjects. - (The "Problems" paper shall not be included). 4. In order to qualify for the award the candidate must obtain a minimum average of "713%, on the nine best papers written, 5» If no candidate qualifies in a given year, two $2,000 Scholarships will be awarded to the two highest ranking candidates who qualify the following year, 6. The conduct and character of the candidate must be established before the Scholarani A shall be awarded, and must be maintained by the winner in a satisfactory mamer,. 7» All points not covered by these regulations and upon which any differences may arise, shall be decided by the "Committee of Awards" and their decision shall be final. 8. The Kimberly-Clark Pulp and Paper Company Limited reserves the right to alter or amend these regulations governing the award of the Scholarship or to discontinue it at any ibaa. he 9. All students who write the Grade 13 departmental examinations and who qualify within the terms of the prospectus as set forth above shall be considered candidates for the scholarship. When the "Committee of Awards" has oktained the standing of the candidates from the Department of Education they will offer the scholarship tothe qualifying . candidate in the order of.standing. If a qualifying candidate does not wish to attend University the Committee will offer the scholarship to be next qualifying candidate in order of standing.
