Around the Town (cont'd) Betty and Don Anderson with Kenny and Donna returned home Saturday from Dryden where they had been guests of Don's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. A.Sferddo and attended the marriage of Don's brother Corky to Miss Eleanor Dick, on April 22nd. Wanda Mae Goneau celebrated her third birthday with the help of eight little friends and some adults, last Friday morn- ing. Games were played and luncheon enjoyed by all. 2ee HH MONSTER ENTERTAINMENT COME ONE - COME ALL - TO THE SCHREIBER TOWN HALL. A Monster Entertainment Night sponsored by the Women of the Moose will be held at the Schreiber Tow. Hall at 8. O'clock on May 8th. The price is One Dollar for the evening and Twenty-five cents for each extra card. During the course of the evening' a turkey and a chicken will be raffled. SHEEEERHet HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY A good many garden lovers turned out at the Recreation Centre last Friday evening when the Horticultural Society held it's April meeting. Opened by President Ab Farrow who gave a brief outline of the Society and it's workings, minutes of the past meeting were read by Mrs. Mary Mid- daugh and reports heard from the various committee heads. Mr. Farrow announced the conmercial fert- ilizer of 4-12-10 would be available to members at $3.45 per 80 lb. bag with cash accompanying order to Mr. George Maitland or Mrs. Mary Middaugh prior to May 10th. Anyone wishing a load of barnyard manure may place their orders with Mr, Maitland. Members who did not pick up their pre- miums at the last meeting may do so from Mr. Farrow. Hugh Brophy spoke briefly on the Spring Show to be held about the first of. June and urged members, to enter. Mrs. Mary Husband reported the Society now had 124 (cont'd next col.) Page 5 ui ie Horticultural Society (cont'd) members. Harry Goodfellow outlined the pro- gress made in interesting the children in a Junior Program. Following Easter holidays a meeting would be called when they would offic- jally set up a Junior Club with it's own officers. There has been a request to Harry Smith for seventeen test plots. Mr. Dick Matt of Wills Nursery, Fort Willian, commenced his speech with tivs on the planting of peonies which were the premiums to Terrace Bay members this year. From there Mr, Matt continued to a great variety of bedding plants, with his suggestions for combinations, planting, etc., and care of lawns in spring and fall. In conclusion Mr. Matt showed a tremendously interesting film, "Peaceful Conquest" dealing with the reclaimation of land in his native Holland.
