TERRACE BAY SCOUTS The group committee of the Scouts and Cubs met in the small room of the Recreation Centre on Tuesday evening, January 8th., with the chairman, Mr. R. Shirriff pre~ siding. Excellent reports of Scout. and Cub activities during the year 1956 were read by R. Wills, J. Wade and W, Megraw. Among interesting items reported were: Scout and Cub camps, selling of Christmas cards by Scouts, cutting and selling of Christmas trees, Father and Son Banquet, Church parades, selling of apples etc, Scou*. Master Megraw read a letter from the Childrens Aid Society thenking the Scouts for the toys they had collected and sent to the Lakehead for distribution among less privileged children, These toys supplied a very real need. The Scout Committee would like to thank all those boys and their parents who collected these toys and made them ready 'to be sent to the Childrens Aid Society. o-O--0 LADIES CURLING CLUB NEWS At an executive meeting held Tuesday night, January 8th,, Mary Hale was appointed to the Executive Committee to fill the vacancy created by Jan Faust who is moving to Kapuskasing. Mary also takes over the Chairmanship of the Entertainment Committee vacated by Jan. The Draw Committee advises that the deadline for playing postponed games in the Seagram's Event is Sunday, January 13th. .All rinks are urged to have games played off by that date in order. that Bonspiel play may commence on Tuesday, January i5th., to declare a winner for this trophy. The next round of bag. for the Hudson's Bay Trophy will commence immediately following play-offs for the Seagram's Trophy. A Round Robin will be played to decide a winner for this trophy. At an Executive Meeting held in Nov., it was decided that the local Ladies Bonspiel will be held the last week-end of March, (March 29th,30th and 31st}. Entry fee is: ¥l0.Gc per rink.
