It [> Iv IH ie 1m RECIPE OF THE WEEK Luscious Apricot Bars 2/3 cup dried apricots 1/2 cup butter 1/4 cup white sugar 1 cup sifted all purpose flour 1/3 cup sifted all purpose flour 1/2 teasp. baking powder 1/4 teasp. salt 1 cup brown sugar, packed 2 eggs, well beaten 1/2 teasp, vanilla 1/2.cup chopped nuts Confectioners! sugar Rinse apricots; cover with water; boil 10 min, Drain; cool; chop. Heat oven. Grease 8" x 8" x 2" pan, Mix, until crumbly, butter, sugar (white) and 1 cup flour, Pack into pan, Bake 350° about 25 minutes, or until lightly browned, Sift together 1/3 cup flour, baking powder, salt, Gradually beat brown sugar into eggs, Add flour mixture; mix well, Mix in vanilla, nuts, apricots, Spread over baked layer, Bake 30 min, at same temp.,, or until done. Bobby Adamo will be home with his parents, Mr, and Mrs, Joe Adamo for three weeks from Toronto where he attends St. Michael's College. Judy and Susy McCausland arrived last Thursday to spend the Christmas season with their parents, Dr. and Mrs, M. McCausland. Judy and Susy are enrolled at Bishop Strachan in Toronto, Mr, and Mrs. Joe Marcella had both sons, Paul and Joseph home for the holidays. Paul is attending St. Patrick High School in Fort William, while Joseph is at St. Thomas College at North Battleford, Sask. Mr. and Mrs, Arthur LeBlanc were another family to have sons return home for the holidays, Gilles and xoger from St. Thomas College in North Battleford, Sask. Barry Marquis visited with his brother Ron in Elliott Lake last week, Both returned home for Christmas with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Marquis. Home from Blind River, Ontario to visit with their fathers were Tim McInnes and Bill Heinrich, Charmaine and Betty Dodge arrived home Sunday from Toronto to visit with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Dodge - Betty for the long weekend, Charmaino remaining until after New Years. The Gordon Savoys were also happy to have two of their sons arrive home for Christmas - Stanley for the long weekend from Toronto and Gordon for the Christmas holidays from Kingston where he is enrolled at Queens University.
