RECREATION FLYER (Cont. ) LACROSSE On Wednesday, September 5th, our Junior Lacrosse team intend to go to Marathon to play their last lacrosse game for this season. In order to do this, we must obtain some means of transportation, and we would appreciation the co-operation of parents or any interested who could help us out. Please phone the Rec, Office as soon as possible, PONY LEAGUE BASEBALL TOURNAMENT Teams - Marathon - Terrace Bay - Nipigon - Red Rock - Beardmore (if interested) Place - Red Rock Baseball Field Date - Saturday, September 8th, Sunday, September 9th, if more teams prefer Sunday. Time - The first game would be played at 10:00 a,m, and would be arranged to include any two teams but Marathon, As Marathon has a long distance to travel they will be granted the second game which will be played at 12:30 p.m. The final game would commence about 3:00 p.m. Rules - Age - The Tournament will be for boys 15 years and under as of Jan. lst, 1956 (any boys 15 years old before January lst, 1956, would therefore be too old), Coaches and managers are requested to do everything possible to see that all their players are within the age limit. Regulation baseball rules will be followed except - Games will consist of 7 innings Pitching distance will be 52 ft. Base distance will be 75 ft. o~0--0 TERRACE BAY' HYDRO PLANT EMPLOYEES RECEIVE SAFETY AWARD The operating, maintenance ard security men of the Ontario Hydro, Aquasa- bon Generating Station assembled early Monday iorning August 13th to receive their fourth Safety Award, Mr. G. L, Crandlemire, Chief Operator, accepted the award on their behalf. The presentation of Safety Awards was instituted in the Ontario Hydro, North- western region in 1952. The presentations are made to the Supervisor in the presence of the members of his staff or crew, For the first year Safety Award a suitable Plaque is presented to the Super- visor, For all subsequent Safety Awards to the same Staff or crew, a suitable ~Bar- is presented. The Bar is then attached to the first year Plaque, The Staff at the Ontario Hydro Aguasabon Generating Station, are the proud possessors of a Plaque for 1952, and three bars, One for 1953 - 54 and 55. They also enjoy the enviable record of 2831 days without a Lost Time Injury, up to July 31, 1956. Mr. G. L. Crandlemire and the members of his staff were congratulated for their splendid record by Mr. E, J. Elvish, Safety Officer, Ontario Hydro, Northwestern Region, who made the presentation on behalf of Mr. D. I, Nattress, Regional Manager, 0-0-0 AROUND THE TOWN (Cont.) they enjoyed a visit with daughter and ~~ son-in--law Cecile and Clare Simms and grandson Donald Blake, Ed Zielke was in Winnipeg last week at which time he was best man at his sister Freda Zielke's wedding on Friday to Carl Peterson of Great Falls, Manitoba, Previously he had spent 3 weeks visiting his parents Mr. and Mrs. Wm, Zielke of Beausejour, 0-0-0 WOMEN OF THE MOOSE A regular meeting of the Women of the Moose, Terrace Bay Chapter 1426, will be held on Wednesday, September 5th in the large meeting roomat the Recreation Centre, Don't forget to bring your dues - those whose dues expired June 30th, 1956.
