Rowson presided at the organ and Mr, B, Lohr sang "Because" and "I Walk Beside You", during the signing of the register, Attendants of the bride were Miss Margaret Sweet, mmaid of honour, Miss Gail Sweet and Miss Madeline Spencer, and the little flower girl was Darlene Larson, Lloyd Dejonghe attended his brother as groomsman, while another brother Andrew Dejonghe and Barry Marquis ushered, (Reg Laurenson, brother of the bride, was ring bearer, Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a floor-length gown of tiered nylon lace over bridal satin, styled with Empire waistline and sweetheart neckline, edged in appliqued lace, and sheath sleeves pointed over the wrists. Her fingertip veil of silk illusion embroidered throughout with flowers of iridescent sequins ~ was held by a tiara of pearls and sequins, and she carried a bouquet of sweetheart roses, Her jewellery was a double strand mother of pearl necklace and earrings, the gift of the groom, The attendants wore waltz length gowns of net over taffeta, the strapless bodice outlined with pleated net and topped by sheer stoles. They wore sequin trimmed tiaras and mittens to match their gowns and carried bouquets of American Beauty roses surrounded by shasta daisies, Miss Margaret Sweet was in yellow, Miss Gail Sweet wore mauve and Miss Madeline Spencer was in light blue. The flower girl was attired in a waltz length gown of pink tiered net over taffeta, pink slippers and mittens and tiara, and carried a basket of roses, mauve and white shasta daisies, (Cont. on next col.) Cruikshank at the home of Mr, and Mrs, Dejonghe Sr., immed- iately following the ceremony and tea was served, The father of the groom presented the young couvle with a family Bible to guide their way of life, The bride's table was covered in a white linen tablecloth and held the four- tiered wedding cake amid the bridal bouquets, A miniature bride and groom in front of white ribbon bows and lily of the valley adorned the top of the cake, The guest book was circulated by Mrs. E. Gaune and wedding cake was cut by Mrs. F. Sweet and Mrs, R, Cotton. Servitors were Misses Tina Weibe and Barb Tait, A well-attended reception and dance was held in the Terrace Bay Arena during the evening at which the bride's mother received in a salmon pink cocktail length gown of net over taffeta with white stole. She wore matching slippers and three strand pearls and a corsage of yellow roses, The mother of the groom received in a light blue nylon taffeta dress with bolero top and white accessories, Her corsage was of red roses, For their honeymoon to Duluth and Superior, Wisconsin, the bride travelled in a poodle cloth sea -blue suit with loose fitting jacket. She wore a matching blue hat,white shoes, gloves and purse and rhinestone necklace and earrings.
