AROUND THE TOWN (Cont.) Des Evans-Smith and family for the previous six weeks, Gerry and John 'Kartinson with Valerie, Marjorie and Murray of Marathon were weekend guests of the Fred McMillans. Mr. and Mrs, M. Khum and daughters Vera, Pauline and Wanda of Cedar Rapids, Iowa visited with the Jerry Papouseks during the past week, Also arriving last week for a visit wexe Ann Papousek's brother and family Kay and John Holancin of Scar- boro, Ontario, who are enjoying renewing acquaintances with their many friends in Terrace Bay. They were accompanied by Ann's sister, Helen Holancin of Toronto, Bella Begin was in Hearst for the long weekend where she attended the marriage of her sister, Noella Begin to Jean Guy Soucy last Monday, August 6th. Gayle Cotton is visiting with her cousin Carol Cotton of Vickers Heights this week, Magistrate and irs, P, T. Hake are holidaying with their daughter, Lois Haviland and family this week, Virginia and Gary Galvin, Laurette and Howard Solly holidaycd together in Wisconsin, stopping off at Duluth, Green Bay, Appleton, Menasha where they visited Gary's aunt,and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Cleveland, Hau Claire, Chippawa Fails and Birchwood, Virginia and Gary stayed over the weekend in Port Arthur to pick up their children Gordon and Lois who had been the guests of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Brown, Dot and Peter Shrier and family returned home last week from their holiday spent in Beausejour with Peter's brother Jack and family, and in Winnipeg with Dot's sister, Mrs, Milbrandt and family. Marjorie Laurenson was guest of. honour last Wednesday, August lst at a Miscellaneous Shower at which Margaret Sweet was hostess, Seated in a decorated chair, Marjorie received a great many lovely gifts from a decorated basket, Bingo and various games were played during the evening and luncheon was served by the hostess assisted by Rose Dye and Dot Yonin. Nacy and Alex Marquis returned home Sunday with daughter Sharon and Gail Sweet having holidayed in Hartford, Michigan with Alex's cousin, Mr, and Mrs. Allen, En route they stopped at Duluth, Superior, Chicago Heights, Sault Ste, Marie, Kenora and also visited a brother of Alex's, Phil Marquis in Rainy River. Mrs, G. A. Tennant visited with her neice Marge Anderson enroute from Toronto (Cont. on page 5 )
