SOFTBALL NEWS 5. HIFT NO. 3 OUT IN FRONT IN SOFTBALL LEAGUE Only one League game took place since the last issue of the Terrace Bay News and this took place on Wednesday, July Ath, between Salary and Shift #3. Salary took an early lead scoring 4 runs in the first inning, but shift 3 kept closely behind all the way and after the seven innings of regulation time, the score was tied at 9-9. In the eighth inning Commisso held the Salary team to one hit and no runs; and going into the bottom of the ninth, Stan Zwaresh hit a 3-0 pitch deep into right field for a home run and the game, Bill Kurylo also homered for Shift #3, RED ROCK WINS DOUBLE HEADER OVER TERRACE BAY ALL STARS On July 2nd, Red Rock took two games from our local All Star Team. The first game ended 5-1 with M, Penziwol of Red Rock pitching 3 hit balls. Seivers scored the only run for Terrace Bay on a triple in the last inning and coming home on an error by the Centre Fielder. The second game was much closer, but Red Rock still finished ahead by a score of 9-8 in 10 innings, Frank Whitfield pitched a good game for Terrace Bay allowing only 2 earned runs in 9 innings. Kurylo hit a home run with 2 men on for Terrace Bay in the ninth inning to tie the score, Maurice Osmar who played a heads-up game at second base also had three hits in this game. In the first game Terrace defeated Schreiber by the score of 12-0, The Terrace team will be composed of both Senior and Junior players and all players sincerely hope that the local fans will come out and support them, The Terrace team will practice Friday evening at 6:00 pem.
