The purpose of it will be to ratify a constitution which will be presented for approval and debate, The following groups, Hardball, Softball, and All Stars, Minor and Little League and Ladies Softball are now under the juris- diction of the T.B.A.B.A. Therefore re- presentatives from these groups should be in attendance, Nominations of chairmen for each group will be received, 0-0-0 HOME BUILDING It is almost Spring? And with the coming of milder weather several employees of the LongLac Pulp and Paper Company are prepar- ing to build their own homes or to con- tinue the construction they started last year. The following individuals have either built their own homes or are at present in the process of building: Alphonse Desrosiers George DeLong, Russ Downey, Ted Kostiuk, Rudy Gerlach, Mike Jaremy, Larry Vachon and Frank Whitfield, all on Lakeview Drive. Emile Henry and Garnet Valiquette on Super.- ior; Joe Shubaly on Fort Garry Road, Carl Peterson an employee of the Terrace Bay High School has built his house on Lakeview Drive. (Cont. on next col,) HOME BUILDING (Cont.) Three company homes have been pur- chased to date by the following: H, Bouchard, H. Schmiedschen and Joe Campbell. It is anticipated that several more Company homes will be purchased by employees of the Company within the next year because at that time 73 Company owned houses will have reachec their minimum selling price. As an example, a Company house selling at $6000.00, may be purchased for 10 percent down. The balance may be paid in 15 years at a rate of about 945,00 per month.which would retire the principal and interest. Interest rate is 5 per cent on the unpaid balance, Out of the group of employees who have built or are building homes; nine of them purchased camp buildings from the LongLac Pulp and Paper Company in order to furnish a great deal of the material, Emile Henry on Superior Avenue was one ¢ the first employees to build his own home in Terrace Bay, Emile tore down one of the old camps in three weeks during his vaca- tion, He had the basement of his home ex- cavated on June 25, 1955 and moved into his home on October 12, 1955. Within the space o four months Emile finished his house includ- ing one coat of inside paint. During the winter months he completed the interior work such as the door frames, base boards and remainder of the painting. This year Emile has more outside work to do such as painting the trim, pouring con- crete walks and landscaping, Like several other builders this was the first house that Emile ever built. He says he really enjoyed building it and wouldn't mind tackling another, Emile found his friends willing to help him and he claims to build isn't such a huge task as some people may think, (Cont. on page 10)
