OLSEN RINK WIN NORTHWEST ZONE CURLING PLAYDOWNS ; On Saturday and Sunday, January 28th and 29th the Terrace Bay rink of T, Olsen O. Olsen, N. West and H. Solly, chalked up a no loss record to win the Zone Curling Playdown,. There were five rinks in this playdown. Marathon, Terrace Bay, Schreiber, Red Rock and Nipigon. These rinks represented the best curlers on the North Shore, The Terrace Bay rink won all of their games advancing them to the District Playdowns. this weekend February 3rd, Ath and 5th. The Terrace Bay rink had little dif- ficulty winning against Marathon, Schrieber or Red Rock, but the game against Nipigon was one to be remembered, All games were 12 ends and in the game with Nipigon the Terrace rink were behind from the second end up to the eleventh end.when they tied it up. Bill Dwyer from Nipigon had the last rock on the last end which of course is a terrific advantage in a tied game, However the Olsen rink curled real sharp on this end, putting the shot rock in and_ then placing guard after guard.
