Bay Aces as a midget player, Played hockey at Scollard Hall and then back to Terrace Bay to play for the Superiors, In his rookie year he was known as the "Bulldog type" always boring in on the opposition.- Back- checking and forechecking - just making himself a general nusiance to the other team, He- has a great deal of stamina and shows "great heart" when the chips are down. A real willing worker, the eager Beaver boy of the club. "Always on the Go Stachiw".- He will have a. good year this year if he progresses as he has been doing in the Pre season games. TIM BOND. - FORWARD Born in Port Arthur raised in Schreiber (single). Played the majority of his Hockey in Schreiber - starring in High School and Midget Hockey Cirel2s, He teamed up well with Stachiw on the Schreiber-Terrace Bay Aces and jumped ffom:that team to Schreiber Diesels (intermediate) after a years study at Scollard Hall. He showed up well in the intermediate leaguein his Rookie year, He joined us in 54 and has played with his old wing-man on our team. This year he has showed promise of a hockey-player on numerous occasions while setting up plays for his line-mates, Great things will come out of him this year if he improves as rapidly as he has done in pre-season tilts, MEET THE TEAM (Cont. ) JACK LANG ~ Page 17 DEFENCE' Born in the Hardrock mining centre of Kirkland Lake in 1933. Jack then moved to Geraldton with his parents. There he played his first Hockey and as years passed advanced to the Geraldton Gold- Miners with whom he played for four years before coming here, His first year in Terrace Bay in 54 was not a great year for this hard- working fellow, but he showed promise and some Hockey ability. In exhibition tilts to date Jack has shown great improvement, he has handed out body crunching checks and has shown his ability in stopping attacking forwards at the blue line when the pressure was on} If he continues to improve he will be classed with the top defense stalwarts of the © league. DAVE DESROSIERS - DEFENCE - Alternate Captain Born in Kapuskasing 24 years ago, married with one child. Played hockey for Kapuskasing, Creighton, Falconbridge and Sudbury Wolves, He joined us in 1954 season and played a very steady game on Defence, This year in games to date has been a steadying influence on Defence and scems to be in for a Great Year. He is a fast breaker, a deadly poke or sweep checker, anc always seems to be in the "right place" at the "right time", A Great Year looms ahead for this ardent competitor and team player, 9-0-0 HOUSE LEAGUE HOCKEY Shift #3 again went down to defeat at the hands of Shift #2 in a well played House League game, The first period ended with Shift #2 leading by a score of 2-1. The second period ended with the score at 2-2, In the third period Shift #2 came to life with Zwaresh the sixty minute coach and defenceman leading his team to victory with 3 unassisted goals. Other scorers for Shift #2 were Legault and DeJonghe. Goalgetters for Shift #3 were Fighter Serneski, Butch Bouchard and Al Harrison.
