Every Friday night will be a skating night. Other changes have been made for improvement and as always constructive comments are welcome, O~O=-0 HOME AND SCHOOL ASSOCIATION The Terrace Bay Home and School Assoc- iation wish to announce that their November meeting has been postponed until December 5th at wiich time they will be highly honoured to have as their guest speaker, Dr. 5.R.Laycock, Dr. Laycock is well-known in the Canadian Home and School Association and Parent Tea- cher Federation, having been the Western Vice-President from 1944 until 1946, the National President from 1946 until 1948 and chairman of Standing Committee on School Education and is now a life member. Dr. Laycock has been a teacher in his province, Saskatchewan, for twenty-five years an instructor in the University there and Dean of Education, prior to his retirement. He does atremendous amount of teaching through his lectures, writings, radio and more recently television participation. Through these channels he has become a nat- ional figure to the public in general, and to the Home and School Association members in particular, In recent years, Dr. Laycock has toured all nine provinces in Canada giving talks on Mental Health, and for a number of years had carried a Radio Series, "School for Parents" which proved of great interest to Parent Education in Home and School Work. In his travels abroad, he has made contacts with educationists and leaders in Home and School, or its equivalent, where such exists; and has given encouragement to the idea whenever opportunity permitted, (Cont. on next col.)
