RECIPE OF THE WEEK _ STRAWBERRY COCONUT PIE iB envelope (1 tbs.) unflavored gelatine 1/4 cup cold water 4 + egg yolks L cup' sugar tf? cup orange juice Bee tsp. grated orange rind hie tsp. salt h egg whites afk cup moist-pack shredded coconut 1 cup halved strawberries Corn Flake Pie Shell Soften gelatine in cold water, Beat egg yolks; add 1/2 cup sugar and orange juice, Cook over hot water, stirring constantly, until thickened, Add orange rind, salt and gelatine; stir until gelatine is dissolved. Cool, Beat egg whites stiff; gradually add rem&ining sugar, beating constantly. Fold with coconut into gelatine mixture, Pour into pie shell; chill wntil firm, Garnish with berries. CORN FLAKE PIE SHELL iL cup finely crushed corn flakes 1/4 cup sugar ie cup melted butter or margarine Mix sugar and corn flakes, Blend in butter or margarine. Press into 9" pie pan or plate. Chill, 0-0-0 AROUND THE TOWN. DAY-BENNET WEDDING The marriage of Joan Sarah Bennett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E,- Bennett, of New Harlow, Essex, England to Henry Richard Day, son of Mr. and Mrs, H. R. Day of Fort William, was solemnized by Reverend Father G, Morris in St. Martin's Roman Catholic Church, Terrace Bay on Wednesday, (Cont. on next col.) Fett 2 AROUND THE TOWN (Corns) June 22nd, at 10:00 a.m. Hrs. Ed Pineauit presided at the organ, vlaying Lohengrin's "Here Comes the Bride", "Ave Maria" during the signing of the register and finally, 'The Wedding March". Given in marriage by Dr. M. McCausland, the bride was attired in an afternoon dress of pale pink nylon with tiny white dots, over pirktaffeta slip. The full skirted gown featured the new low waistline, high collar and three-quarter length full sleeves with tight cuffs. She wore matching pink slippers and a hat trimmed with small pink rosebuds, The bride carried a white covered prayer book, a gift from her parents, with two white satin streamers to which were attached tiny pink rosebuds. Mrs. Sheila Todd attended' the bride as Matron of Honour and chose for the occasion an afternoon dress of blue and white print, full skirt, three quarter length sleeves and high collar. Her accessories were white and she carried a bouquet of cream coloured roses. Mr. R. J. Todd attended as groomsman. A reception was held at the home Mr. and Mrs, Bill Day following the wedding. Dr. McCausland proposed the toast to the bride and congratulatory wires were read from friends and relat- ives in England. Mr, anc Mrs, Dick' Day left for a short motor trip and will reside in Terrace Bay, Out-of-town guests were Dick's Father, Mr. H.R, Day and his brothers Jack and Ralph all of Fort. William, Mrs. George Brophy and her daughter Mrs. Jack Todd were joint hostesses at the home of Mrs, Todd, June 20th at a Kitchen Shower in honour of bride- elect Joan Bennett, Joan received many lovely gifts at the shower and games were played during the evening. A very lovely luncheon was served by the hostesses. Prior to the wedding a Stag was. held for Dick Day at the home of his brother Bill, when his friends and associates presented him with a steam iron. CAMPBELL-LEGAULT NUPTIALS Another wedding of interest to _ Terrace Bay residertts was held Monday morning, June 27th, in St. Bertrams ; Roman Catholic Church, Rossport, when Francis Elizabeth Legault, daughter of Mrs, Mary Legault, became the bride of (Cont, on page 5)
