BANQUET The Schreiber and Terrace Bay C.G.1.T. Groups held their first joint Mother and Daughter Banquet on Wednesday, May 25th in the Community Church at Terrace Bay. About eighty Mothers and Daughters sat down to the tables which were beautifully decorated with spring flowers and floating bowls of pansies, Bach Mother received a tiny colonial nosegay of pansies with streamers of blue and white, the C.G.I.T. colours, Miss Jean Goodfellow, president of the Terrace Bay group gave the address of welcome and introduced the Schreiber president, Miss Diane Slater Pont. on next col. 5 Page 3 C.Ge1l.T. BANQUET (Cont. j and other guests, Reverend J. W, Cruickshank of Schreiber offered the blessing after which a delicious turkey dinner was served by Mrs, Harris Haughn and her committee. The toast to the Cueen was followed by the toast to the Mothers given by Miss Betty MacFadyen and was res- ponded to by Mrs, Glen Gawley of Schreiber, The guest speaker, of the evening, Reverend Arthur Lavender was intro- duced by Miss Susie McCausland and thanked by Miss Donna Lohr, Mr. Lavender spoke on the theme "Converting your Mirrors into Windows", Mrs. C. Briggs led the group singing and a humorous skit was put on by the Terrace Bay group under the leadership of Miss M, Clayson,. Miss Sharon MacAdam of Schreiber entertained delightfully with two very enjoyable monologues which proved very popular with her audience, Mrs, Middaugh, who organized the first C.G.1.T. group in Terrace Bay, was called upon to say a few words and expressed her pleasure in watching the progress of the group over the last few years. Reverend Cruickshank voiced his appreciation for the work being done by the leaders and girls in the C,G,.I.1T. organization. Mrs, Morrow Riddell of Schreiber and Mrs, F, Soughton of Terrace Bay expressed their thanks to Mrs, Haughn and her committee for the very fine ban- quet and also to those who provided transportation for the Schreiber group.
