PORTER NAMED PRESIDENT OF HOME AND SCHOOL ASSOCIATION ~ The Annual Meeting CE ier Tete Bay Home and School Association was held. in the Public School Monday evening, May 16th and opened with the singing of "0 Canada", 'Mrs. D. Porter presided in the chair. Minutes of the previous annual meeting were read by Mrs. Ginn and the Treasurer's report for 1954-55 was given by Mr, Jim Corrigan. . Reports of the year's accomplishments wore given by the following: Mr. Knauff - Member~ ship; Mrs, Briggs - Programme; Mrs, Kenney - Social Convenor, Mr. Locking announced 'that he had forms to fill in for those who felt they could offer their assistance to teach the students for vocational guidance in their skill or trade, The problem of highway crossing was discussed and it "was suggested to have a parent patrol. Mrs, Borsum volunteered to convene this highway project with four or five ladies volunteering their assistance to investigate the best possible way to insure 'the children's safety with this hazard, '- Blection of officers for the 1955-56 season was conducted and are as follows: President - Mrs, D. Porter; Vice-Pres- ident - Mrs, Olga Adamo and Mr. Joe Marcella; Recording Secretary - Mrs, L. Ginn; Corresponding Secretary - Mrs, Harold Hall; Treasurer - Mr, Joe Wig; Programmes - Mrs. V. Hopper; Publicity - Mrs, Jan Nelson; Ways and Means - Mrs, M, Flater; Executive Members - Mrs, Peter Combola; Mrs, V. Duquette, Mrs, Ron Faust, Ernie Rowson, Robert Shirriff. Mr. Ray Kenney duly installed the néw President and her officers for the coming' season, A very scenic and colourful film of the Queen's tour taken by the Globe and Mail was presented to every- one's enjoyment, Following the filn, Mrs. K. Anderson and her committee served tea and luncheon during the social hour. 0-0-0 RECREATION FLYER Soccer Players The old South Camp field has been our spot for our soccer this year, Yesterday the initial leveling of the field began.
