Volume 4, No. 39 oe One of Canada's best golf course architects has selected a site for the proposed Aguasabon Golf Course at Terrace Bay. The architect is Howard Watson of Canadian Golf Landscaping Limited, The site is the area south of the Hotel and Lakeview Drive extending to the River Mouth and Lake Superior and west to the Aguasabon River below the highest terrace or escarpment. Four of the nine holes (now located on a contour map of the area) extend from south of the new disposal area along both sides of the road to the River mouth, The other five holes extend west. Two of them are along the river bank, The architect's estimate of the contract price for the 9-hole course is under $60,000. This estimate includes everything (heavy equipment, labour, topsoil, fertilizer, sand, muck etc.) Permanent maintenance equipment for the course would run another $5000, On thinking about the dollar outlay on course construction, heavy equipment has already been assured by the Company whenever it can be spared. Volunteer help could cut the cash required very measurably. Even without it the cash outlay for labour, seed, fertilizer, topsoil etc. could be as low as $30,000, Perhaps less, That's the picture to date, A (Cont. on next col.)
