AROUND THE TOWN (Cont. ) Hilda Brophy is a patient in the Port Arthur General Hospital and her many friends wish her a speedy recovery. Mary Fran Carriere of Schreiber spent the past week visiting with her Aunt, Mrs. Ann Demas. Mr. A. McCallum of Port Arthur spent last weekend visiting with his daughter and son--in-law, Betty and Don Ollen-Bittle. The regular get to-gether of "The Hens Bridge Club" was held at Donna Walkers on Monday Evening. Top honours in bridge went to Rita Newell. Booby to Dot Dalzell.- Luncheon was served by the hostess assisted by Olyve Harrison and Kay Weppler.. "Hens" present were Dot Dalzell, Dottie Campbell, Olyve Harrison, Rita Newell, Eleanore Ruziski, Donna Walker, Kay Weppler, and Verne Conway (subbing for Sparky Black). Finder please contact Betty Avstin at the Personnel Office, Local 216, or Hotel Terrace. 0-0-0 MEN'S CURLING ATTENTION FIGURE SKATERS An executive meeting of the Figure Skating Club was held in the Continuation School last night where various items of business were dealt with, The matter of membership fees was discussed and itws decided they would be as follows: Where only one member of a family is enrolled, the fee will be $2.00 for the season. Where more than one member of a family is enrolled, the fee will be $1.50 per person for the seasoMne The deadlinefor membership fees is set for this coming Sunday, January 24th, Dot Dalzell will be at the Schreiber arena to accept the fees and issue receipts for same, or if desired, they may be paid during this week to Mrs. Dalzell at 96 Hudson Drive. Skating will again be from 10:00 a.m., +0 2:00 p.m, this Sunday in Schreiber. Mrs. Spiess will be in attendance, and it is re- quested that all skaters be at the Public School at 9:30 or 10:30 a.m., Sunday morning for transportation to Schreiber. Plans are now underway to secure films from Port Arthur, which feature Barbara Ann Scott, demonstrating the art of Figure Skating. Please watch the "News" for further details as to when these films will be shown. For the benefit of new skaters who have not attended classes in Schreiber, the cost of instruction by Mrs. Spiess is 50¢ for a group lesson, and $1.00 for a private lesson.
