HOCKEY NORTH SHORE LEAGUE Sunday afternoon Terrace Bay Superiors met Geraldton Gold Miners in the Schreiber Arena. This was the first. time these teams have met in the current North Shore Hockey Schedule and the fans were well pleased with the game. Although Terrace lost 4-3 the spectators were kept on their toes by the hockey ability of Tony Massaro; a new player for Terrace Bay. . The first period had barely started when Geraldton opened the scoring. After this early goal both teams watched each other fairly close until the 10 minute mark and then Geraldton scored again. At 18:10 Terrace got on the score board as Johnny Cavanaugh found the twine on a nice pass from Mac Munroe, The second period opened fast and Tony Massaro scored at 3:10 on a beautiful solo effort. After the face-off Tony again scored but this one was offside. Terrace really put on pressure in this period and the Geraldton goalie was a very busy chap indeed. The Miners finally got organized and on a break away scored again making it 3-2 at the end of the period. Geraldton opened the 3rd period with a goal and that really put Terrace behind. The Superiors started using 5 forwards and finally this paid off at 18:35 when Tony Massaro scored with Pete Diduch getting an assist.. Final score 4-3 for Geraldton.
