Things have been shaping up well for a successful Figure Skating Season in Terrace Bay and Schreiber, The "Powers That Be" of this organization for this coming season will be: Dot Dalzell, Margaret Cumming, Jim Duncan, Harry Coe, Mrs. D. Porter, Mike McCausland and Betty Austin. Skating will begin this Thursday evening, January 7th, between the hours of 4:00-6:00 pem. at our local rink, where Margaret Cumming and Betty Austin will be in attendance to take the names of all those who are inter- ested and who have not as yet registered with Dot Dalzell, and skating will begin right away e We are very happy to announce that arrangements have been completed with Mrs, Marlyn (Baccari) Spiess, of Port Arthur, to act as our professional for this coming season, and it is expected that Marlyn will be down to see us each week-end to teach and further the art of Figure Skating in Terrace Bay and Schreiber, Marlyn is the older of the famed Baccari sisters of the Thunder Bay Figure Skating Club at the Lakehead, and has an abundance of knowledge in this field. She and her sister Marie, skated a pair for 14 or 15 years in the Thunder Bay Figure Skating Club's amual "Ice Fantasy" and until their retire- ment from the club last year, have always been a big attraction and drawing card at this annual ice show, Marlyn has held many of the (Cont. on next col.) Arrangements have been made with the Schreiber representatives to start skating in the closed arena in Schreiber this Sunday from 10:00 to 3:00 poem. A large number of lessons have already been booked for this Sunday, and we urge you to book your lessons right away by phoning Dot Dalzell at 453, if you have not already done so, Mrs, Spiess will be on hand this Sunday to start her instruction at the Schreiber Arena, As the problem of transportation to and from Schreiber is going to be one of the biggest headaches of this organization, any offers of cars for this purpose wovld be appreciated, Please phone Dot Dalzell at 453 or Betty Austin at Hotel Terrace, DON'T FORGET THIS THURSDAY IN TERRACE BAY AND SUNDAY IN SCHREIBER. o-~0-0
