AR: UND THE . TOWN A Conference of the Northwestern Ontario Scout Movement was held last Sunday afternoon and evening in the Y.M.C.A,',--Port. William. Attending from Terrace Baye.wére Bob Shirriff John Wade, Jim Rowley, Jack Anderson, Roland Wills and Bill McGraw. The theme of. the Conference was "Looking Ahead", and stressed the importance of keeping the Cubs in the Movement right through their Scouting years. Mrs. A. Harris of Three Rivers, Quebec arrived last week to visit with her son-in- law and daughter, Jim and Audrey Rowley. Young Jimmy Rowley accompanied his Grand- mother home Fgh eewang his six week holiday in. Three Rivers, Company at the Bert Lohr's over the past two weeks have included: Mrs. Lohr's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Schwark of Morris, her Uncle Mr. L. Jaster also of Morris, Aunt, Mrs. Helen Jaster of Winnipeg, Mr. and Mrs. Don- ald Skinner and: family of .Port Arthur, and another Aunt and Uncle of Mornsaa Mr, and Mrs. J. Sommer. Craig and daughter Althea of Fort William.. Two outstanding good sports this year were Ross Mitchell of III Form and Doris Mousseau of I Form who wre justly rewarded with prizes from the Student's Couneil. Congratulations to you both! Wednesday saw our annual Sports Day participation with Schreiber Continuation School. Although we didn't bring home the trophy, donated by the Kiwanis Club, we did bring home quite a few individual honours and the sportsmanship displayed on beHalf of both schools was something to watch. Two b xes of delicious,Macintosh apples, donated by 'the fogal L. & L. Food Market, highlighted the day for Terrace Bay. On Friday evening the Student's Council of T.B.C.S. staged a party to honour our initiates and also to honour all those who took part in Sports Day. The climax cf the evening took place when Rev. Mr. Lavender presented the Track and Field 'Trophy on behalf of the Kiwanis Club to Mr, Riddell, Principal of Schreiber. Continuation School, who accepted it on behalf of his pupils. Mr.' "Nick" Linkwich presented the "Roxy Theatre" Inter-School Bowling Trophy to Ray Husband , captain of the Redskins, winning team in last season's play. Along with this trophy went four individual trophies to each member of the ~ team, Terrace Bay particularly enjoyed this presentation as the winning team was from Terrace Bay, All in all the Student's Council who conducted Initiation and the Wincup Party are to be heartily congratulatoc fora good' job well done, The first game of a béest- of--three series for the Kinsmen Football Trophy was: played Tuesday in Schreiber with T.B.C.S. coming from behind a 5-0 first quarter lead by Schreiber to quickly even the score 5-5 on a touchdown and go one up on a field goal in the second quarter, One more touchdown and field goal put Terrace Bay ahead by the score of 12-5 at the end of the third quarter. Early in the last guarter Schreiber came back with a touchdown. Their attempt for a convert was foiled by a bad snap and our linesmen breaking through. With 4 minutes left Schreiber completed a long pass and ended up-.on Terrace Bay's 10 yw (cont, on page 5)
