By a series of eliminations, winners will be decided for playoffs, the winning rink of which will be en- titled to the Grand Challenge Trophy donated by Hudson's Bay Company. In a bonspiel, which in all probability will be held mid-season, 4 trophy donated by the Imperial Bank of Canada will go to the winners. Members and the executive of the Curling Club would like to thank publicly both Imperial Bank and Hudson's Bay Company for their respective dona- tions of trophies. In regular curling during the first four days of the schedule winning rinks were skipped by: Kay Isbester, Les martin, Ruth Bangartt, E. Ostling, R. Normandeau, A. Marcel, J. Johnston, R. Mantere, C. Knauff, A. MacDonald, P. Kerr and B. Dyck. But that doesn't end our curling news! During the afternoons, townsite ladies make good use of the rink for practices andchallenge games. During the past week, a friendly but keen rivalry has emerged between rinks from Laurier Avenue and Hudson Drive. Ketcheson of the Carling's Conser- vation Club will be present at a meeting to be held in the Recreation Hall on Thursday February 1leth at 8:00 p.m. Major Ketcheson will be here through arrangements made by executive members of the - newly formed Northwestern Ontario Conservation Federation, an organization which embraces fish, game and conservation-minded clubs from Marathon on the east to the Manitoba border.
