Business Directory The following poetry forms a business dir- ectory for the Village of Sundridge and appears to have been published in about 1886. The poet in question was A.Gr. Squire Bannerman set village stake, And Sundridge is the name. In the wilderness remote, Where ships and steamers never float, Telegraph or car or boat. Had never reached the same. Dominion's parent in the chair, Said, let there be a through fare, And telegraph as well car. In spite of politics; Hendrie and Symmes are driving on, To the order of Sir John. And railroad day is bound to dawn, On New-year eighty six. Where hunters in their trails did tram And lumbermen to stock their camp,. How behold the city lamp, A brilliant broad display.
