- This photograph shows a green Forman Tank and Welding Co. Truck on the road. The side of the truck reads "R.H Burns, Woodstock, 537-7521."
The Forman Tank and Welding Company was formed in 1952 by Carl Forman in St. Marys. He originally repaired agricultural equipment. With encouragement from oil companies, Forman began producing tankers in 1954. These tanks were successful and by 1976, the company was a 27,500 square-foot operation. In 1989, Carl Forman retired and his company was sold to Robica, a fabricating business in Stratford run by husband-and-wife, Robert and Monica Nothof. A previous increase in business had led to Robica's 1989 purchase of Forman Tank and Welding Company, which they renamed to Robica Forman Tank Ltd. The new company's operations were then moved to St. Marys where they have been ever since. - Notes
