- Description
- A photograph of a couple at the 1967 Senior Prom at St. Marys D.C.V.I. They may have also been members of that year's graduating class (class of 1966-67).
St. Marys D.C.V.I. was built in 1954 as a high school to replace the old St. Marys Collegiate Institute in the North Ward, which then became an elementary school known as Arthur Meighen Public School. This was to honour the old school's most famous graduate and Canada's 9th Prime Minister, Arthur Meighen.
The new high school in the East Ward would benefit the Town as the population and demand for high school education was increasing in St. Marys. Today (2024), local high school students still attend St. Marys D.C.V.I. - Date of Original
