Description
Photo of members of the Latin American Institute from 1965. This organization was housed in Westover Park where it served as a place to train Catholic missionaries working in Central America.

The use of Westover Park for religious purposes was not new, as back in the 1940s, the property was sold to the Scarborough Foreign Mission Society to become a Catholic seminary. The house (now Westover Inn) was renamed Nazareth House for this period. The former drawing room was changed into a chapel, crosses adorned the buildings, and the gardens were slowly turned into shrines to the Virgin Mary.

By the 1960s, the Latin American Institute had moved in, operating at Westover Park until 1971.
