- Description
- A picture of a box of dressmakers' pins made by DeLong Hook & Eye Company in St. Marys, Ontario. The package reads "SUPER-PAK" and "Sharp Points-Slender Wire," advertising "steel-nickel plated" pins. According to the packaging, the box is also reusable. This box of pins was sold for 29 cents in 1961.
Founded by Frank DeLong in Philadelphia, DeLong Hook & Eye Co. made pins and fasteners for clothing. One of these factories was built on Emily St. in the early 1900s, but in 1958, the factory changed locations and a new larger building was built on Egan Avenue. This building on Egan Avenue later housed Dresden Industries and eventually closed in 2003. - Date of Original
