Description
This is an image of the log cabin at Palmer Park in Detroit. Greenery can be seen growing on the exterior of this cabin.

U.S. Senator Thomas Witherell Palmer donated the land for the park on the condition that the virgin forest would be preserved. He originally called it Log Cabin Park, but in 1897, the park was officially named Palmer Park. The, rustic, log cabin style house was completed in 1887 as a getaway from the city for the Palmer family. Throughout the years, this log cabin has been open to the public on various occasions.

This log cabin is featured in reesor236 and reesor237.

This photo belongs to the Reesor Collection, which is a group of photos taken by Milton W. Reesor, a local amateur photographer. He took many photos of friends, family, animals, outdoor activities, machinery, the railway, and more in and around St. Marys from 1898-1910.
