- Description
- This photograph depicts the reconstruction of the Park Street Bridge in 1970. Though originally constructed in 1903, two floods in 1937 and 1947 washed out the bridge and a new, stronger bridge was needed. Being made out of steel, the new bridge would have better support. In this photo, support beams and foundation have been laid and construction workers are continuing their labours in the background.
