- Description
- This is a photograph of Ray Facey, an employee at the Journal Argus for over 60 years, operating one of the newspaper's old machines. This photograph would have been taken inside 142 Queen Street East, the newspaper's old office. Now (2018), this store is home to Jackson's on Queen.
The printing press used by the newspaper was purchased by the Journal Argus in 1910 and was used into the 1960s. After the press was retired, newspapers were printed off site and the Journal Argus moved away from its downtown location. The Journal Argus newspaper ran for almost a century in St. Marys, from 1920 to 2017. - Notes
