- Description
- This is a photograph of the general store that used to exist at Prospect Hill. Outside you can see a man with a horse and sleigh and the shopkeeper. The store, which was the first store in Prospect Hill, was started by Benjamin Stanley in 1866. Since then, it has been run by many different storekeepers. The "Post Office" sign visible in this photo was added by storekeeper Mr. Smith in 1897.
