- This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. This postcard commemorates American Thanksgiving. Depicted are Pilgrims and Puritans who began emigrating from England to Massachusetts in the 1620s. The stories of their bountiful harvests laid the foundation for modern-day thanksgiving celebrations in the United States. Thanksgiving became common in Canada after settlers arrived in Nova Scotia from New England around 1700.
This postcard is used and dated 8 Novemeber 1911. - Notes
