Description
This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. It depicts the Granton Station of the Grand Trunk Railway Main Line, which served the community from 1866 to 1956. Its creation spurred the development of the area, leading to the establishment of Granton soon thereafter. This postcard depicts the original passenger flag station built by Alexander Grant Sr., William Levitt, and Charles Foreman. During its height the line saw regular freight, passenger, express, and mail service.
