Description
This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. In 1908, the St. Marys Milling Company built the dam across the Thames River, creating a millpond that was close enough to a lake to allow boating throughout summer. Members of a newly formed canoe club subsequently constructed a boathouse on the banks of Trout Creek at the south edge of the Flats.
Notes
Condition: Good - Slight wear on bottom corners, some discolouration along sides.
