Description
This image is one in a series of postcards from the Reg Near collection. The band depicted here was common for major companies in the turn of the 20th century. St Marys Cement was founded in 1912 by John Lind and Alfred Rogers. Together they led a small group of investors in building a 2 kiln, 180 tonne per day cement plant at a cost of $250,000. St Marys Cement is one of the oldest cement companies in North America and a major producer of cement related materials in the Great Lakes Region.
